Newbery Honoree and American National Book Award author M T Anderson will discuss writing historical nonfiction for kids and teens, using as his examples his book on the Siege of Leningrad during World War II, Symphony for the City of the Dead, and his new book on the bizarre theft of the corpse of St. Nicholas -- Santa Claus -- from its tomb, Stealing Saint Nick. He'll discuss how to pursue research and how to turn historical fact into engaging narratives for young people.
